The Pirate Queen Book Series

Book One ~ The Making of a Queen

'The making of a queen' centers around the life of Miss Esmerelda Ravencliff just before the start of the golden age of piracy. Esmerelda was raised with an absentee and emotionally abusive father and when he calls her to London for her season and to marry her off in an arranged marriage chaos ensues. The book is told in first person through Esmerelda as she navigates the London season and slowly uncovers the truth of the way women are treated and seen in society.

Thanks to her cousin teaching her all manner of skills not 'befitting' a woman she wields, swords, daggers, bows and arrows as well as her keen habit of observation and her devious machinations. As she plots on ways to gain her freedom and avoid an arranged marriage she slowly collects women like her who believe they have more to offer than to be a silent wife. Murder, mayhem and magic all ensue as Esmeralda comes into her own with a hodgepodge bunch of women as they carve a place in the world and take to the high seas.
